So on March 17, 2020, like many, we had to shut down. We had 190 kids registered for Spring basketball and then the world changed for everyone. We came back in July 2020 and went from July 2020 to November 2021 (about 16 months) practicing and even playing games outside on the blacktop. That said, we are proud of the fact we had over 100 kids per session for 16 months with no cases of covid. Last year, 2022, we were back in the gym and close to full strength. We moved practice back inside and had 180 kids in spring, 150 in the summer, and 135 in fall and winter. Well our winter session has come to an end and we believe, in 2023, we will be back to full strength bigger and better than ever. With that in mind, we are proud to announce the kickoff of the 2023 EASTBAY BULLDOGS BASKETBALL. Here is the plan. On Sunday, Feb 5, 12 & 19, we will be doing our final Spring Player Registration and Evaluation days at Hart MS in Pleasanton. The Schedule is as follows:

  • 9 to 10:15 AM – 2nd to 4th Grade Signups & Player Evals
  • 10:00 to 10:15 AM – Parent Informational Meeting
  • 10:30 to 11:45 AM – 5th & 6th Grades Signups & Player Evals
  • 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM – Parent Informational Meeting
  • 1 to 2:15 PM – 7th, 8th & HS Kids Signups & Player Evals
  • 2:00 to 2:15 PM – Parent Informational Meeting
  • 2:30 to 3:45 PM – Girls, 2nd to 8th Grade Signups & Player Evals
  • 3:30 to 3:45 PM – Girls informational Parent Mtg

So here is how it works. At each workout, we will have a registration table at the front door where you can get your kids signed up (you can also sign up online to avoid the line at the door). At each workout, we will just run a practice for the kids to watch them play and see how they fit with us. And you can watch the workout to see what we do. FYI, we have room for all skill levels. We are anticipating 3 teams per grade so we will have an Elite ALPHA team, a good intermediate team and a beginner team in each grade and possibly HS teams if there is interest. If you know you are going to join, we ask players to come to all 3 workouts, not to be evaluated but just because we are treating these workouts like practice. These workouts are a chance for us to get a jump start with a couple of extra practices before spring oficially starts. There is a $30 fee to tryout. But that fee covers you for all 3 pre-season workouts and if you signup to play spring, the fee is refunded to you. This way, if you dont sign up, you just are paying $30 for your gym time at the tryouts. And for that, you get a couple of great workous so it is a bargain.

With regard to the informational parent meeting, we ask a parent or guardian for all players to attend 1 of these meetings. You only need to come to 1 but you need to come. At the meeting, we will go over what to expect for the session and the year.
